Welcome to Sydney New Years Eve 2011

Set on Sydney Harbour and featuring the iconic Harbour Bridge, Sydney New Years Eve signals the start of another year to millions of people in Sydney, across Australia and throughout the world.

Each New Years Eve is a blank canvas for us all, a time to reflect on our actions from the previous year and a chance to create a better future in the year ahead.

This year, our theme is Time to Dream. We invite you all to share your dreams, hopes and aspirations for the year ahead.

In 2011 we welcome our new Creative Director, Marc Newson, to the team. One of the most acclaimed and influential designers of his generation, Marc grew up in Sydney and has always dreamed of being part of our iconic Sydney New Years Eve celebrations.

As Sydney New Year’s Eve unites more than 1.5 million friends, visitors and families in celebration, we ask you to support our 2011 official charity, the international humanitarian aid organisation, CARE Australia.

Please remember to plan ahead for a memorable night, and to celebrate responsibly so we can all enjoy this fantastic night around our beautiful harbour.

Remember also to look out for your friends, and have a safe and happy New Year 2012.
