Creative Ambassador – Kylie Minogue

We are absolutely thrilled to announce Australia’s Queen of Pop, Kylie Minogue, as our Creative Ambassador for 2012 Sydney New Year’s Eve.

Kylie will be working alongside some of Australia’s best creative talent – exploring the theme, music, colour scheme and style for this year’s event, which will be used throughout the promotional campaign, on banners to dress the city and, of course, the ultimate Midnight Fireworks Display.

Celebrating her 25th year as a national and international singer, entertainer and designer, Kylie will be ending her year at the best New Year’s Eve in the world — and everyone is invited to join her.

Kylie Minogue is an Australian singer, recording artist, songwriter, showgirl and actress currently celebrating her 25th year in music. A global icon, Kylie has long represented Australia on the world stage.

After beginning her career as a child actress on Australian television, she achieved international recognition through her role in the television soap opera Neighbours, before commencing her career as a recording artist in 1987.

Since the late ’80s Kylie Minogue has received accolades and awards for her top charting musical hits. Most notably she has had No.1 hits in three consecutive decades.

Her high-profile battle with breast cancer in early 2005 thrust her into the limelight as a champion in the fight against the disease.

Kylie Minogue last represented Australia in Sydney when she performed during the closing ceremonies of the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics.

Minogue is no stranger to public adoration. She has achieved worldwide record sales of more than 68 million and received notable music awards, including multiple ARIA and Brit Awards, and a Grammy Award. In 2011 she was inducted in the ARIA Hall of Fame.
