On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day there will be some roads closed before, during and after the event. Road closures will be in place on New Year’s Eve and are at the discretion of NSW Police. Closures include roads around the Sydney CBD, Darling Harbour, Royal Botanic Gardens, North Sydney and other Sydney Harbour foreshore vantage points.
Visit Live Traffic NSW for a full list of road closures, special event clearways and additional information.
Be aware that road closures affect the normal bus transport routes and no traffic will be allowed in or out of any of the road closure areas. Information will be available on this page closer to the event. Please be aware that there will be parking restrictions applied with special event clearways enforced throughout the Sydney CBD, North Sydney, Pyrmont and other foreshore areas.
Local road closures will also be in place around popular spectator vantage points on the night.
With many roads closed in the Sydney CBD, harbour foreshore, and various council areas, the city is no place for cars.
So plan ahead to avoid delays, and make sure you make the most out of your night. Vantage points fill up early, so you may miss out if you’re late.
