Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country

We kicked off Sydney New Year’s Eve with a traditional Smoking Ceremony, led by 3 Tribal Warrior vessels sailing around the harbour.

Wiradjuri/Gadigal Elder Aunty Joan Bell delivered a Welcome to Country on behalf of the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council, projected onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge pylons.

The City of Sydney acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Custodians of this land.
