Pirrama Park designated accessible viewing area
Reserved for people with disability to enjoy with their family and friends.
Pirrama Park in Pyrmont is a family-friendly, secure site with level terrain and great views of the fireworks from the western side of the Harbour Bridge.
The whole of Pirrama Park is fully accessible, however you may want to access the wharf area which has capped general public access and also caters to those with accessible needs, their family and friends. You will need a wristband to enter this area.
Site description
- Accessible toilets and change room.
- Onsite security and first aid.
- Bring your own picnic.
- No glass.
- No shade. Bring a hat, sunscreen, raincoat or umbrella.
- Limited seating available.
Site entry
- The gate opens at 4pm.
- Enter at Pirrama Road.
- The wharf viewing area is 350 metres from the general entry point at Pirrama Park and around 170m from the drop off point near the wharf (Pirrama Road closes to vehicles at 7pm).

Getting here
Public transport is the best way to get around on New Year’s Eve.
The Star light rail station is 500 metres from the Pirrama Road gate. Pirrama Road will be closed from 7pm until 4am.
Jones Bay Wharf car park is 200 metres from the site. It will be open until 7pm (or when full). Cars may not be allowed to leave until 1am when pedestrians have cleared.
Alternative car parks are on Edward Street and Murray Street in Pyrmont, both around one kilometre from the site.
The Star only allows members to access its car park.
