Transport

Getting here

  • Access Lavender Bay is on foot only from Blues Point Rd and Lavender St.
  • No parking available, public transport is the best way to get around on New Year’s Eve, with thousands of additional services running.
  • The closest stations are North Sydney Train Station and Victoria Cross Metro Station.
  • McMahons Point wharf will close from 10am and Milsons Point wharf will close from 2pm. Use trains instead. Buses will not run due to road closures.
  • Plenty of additional trains, metro and buses will be operating. Follow the directions of NSW Police and staff on site.
  • Roads around Lavender Bay will begin closing from 7pm 30 December with major road closures from 5pm on New Year’s Eve, leave the car at home. See road closure information.

Leaving the event

  • If you’re travelling home back towards the city catch trains from North Sydney Station. If you’re traveling north catch the Metro from Victoria Cross from Miller St.
  • Buses towards the Northern Beaches leave from Berry St in North Sydney, buses towards the north shore and Hills district leave from Miller St near McLaren St. Follow the directions of NSW Police and staff on site.

  • Pedestrian diversions are in place on New Year’s Eve. The way you arrive may differ from how you get home. Be prepared for a longer walk to transport hubs.
