There are accessible options available to make Sydney New Year’s Eve memorable for people with disability.
Designated accessible viewing areas
These areas are reserved for people with disability and / or access needs to enjoy with their family and friends. We have provided some information for each spot including accessible features, site entry and public transport advice.

Volunteers
Find volunteers at the following locations on 28 December and 31 December:
Customs House from 8:30am to 10:30pm
Shakespeare Place from 8:30am to 10:30pm
Macquarie Street at Martin Place from 8am to 10:30pm
Queen Victoria Building (QVB) from 8:30am to 10:15pm
Wynyard – between George and Margaret streets from 9am to 10:30pm
Changing Places
A Changing Places facility is available at Abraham Mott Hall located at 15A Argyle Place, Millers Point, between 2pm on New Year’s Eve and 12.30am on New Year’s Day. The facility includes an adult size adjustable change table, ceiling hoists and space for up to 2 assistants.

Audio description
ABC Radio will broadcast a live audio description of the midnight fireworks.
Tune into your local ABC Radio station via the ABC Listen app, online or on channel 25 on your television.
You can also listen to the live audio description through 2RPH .

You can watch the event on the ABC and iview . The broadcast begins at 8.30pm. Live closed captions available.

Listen to KIIS 1065 for the exclusive soundtrack at 9pm and midnight.

Accessible pick up and drop off zones
The City of Sydney provides two pick up and drop off zones:
Please note: Access to the Argyle Street drop off zone must be before 10pm on 31 December. Road closures will be in place between 10pm and 1.30am on 1 January 2023, so pick up from the area must be after 1.30am on 1 January. Shakespeare Place Accessible drop off / pick up zone will not be affected by road closures.
